Civic Enterprise Leeds

Keeping our city running smoothly and ensuring our residents can access the services they need when they need them is a huge responsibility. That’s why it’s so important we employ the right people who can work together efficiently and compassionately. Civic Enterprise Leeds (CEL) is an area of the council responsible for delivering many of our essential frontline services and is made up of several teams including catering, cleaning, building services, passenger transport and more.

As well as providing quality in-house services for Leeds City Council, CEL also holds contracts with other organisations to generate additional income including the NHS, West Yorkshire Ambulance Service, Ringways Ford and more.

When you join CEL, you’re joining a diverse team of over 3,500 council staff helping to make our ambition for Leeds to be the best city in the UK a reality. Whatever your role, working in CEL you’ll be ensuring people and organisations across Leeds receive fantastic services.

All our staff commit to our core values and behaviours. We are looking for people who are open, honest and trusted and who treat people fairly. We need people with high standards and who can provide great customer service. Sharing these values is just as, if not more, important than your work history and experience.

Roles in CEL are varied, and it’s very likely there’s a role to suit your skills.

We’re often looking for kitchen assistants to ensure people in schools, nurseries and adult social care settings receive tasty and nutritious meals. If you have a trade such as an electrician or plumber, we’d really welcome your skills and experience as we deliver repairs, mechanical and electric work and other planned works across the city.

Because we are such a large council, we need lots of vehicles to get our jobs done. Our fleet management team takes care of over 1,300 vehicles for Leeds City Council, working to ensure they are up to standard and comply with regulations. If you enjoy driving, our passenger transport team is responsible for transporting people who would otherwise find it difficult to access vital services such as schools, care centres and community activity groups. We’re also often looking for cleaning operatives to help us keep buildings across the city spotless.

There is a wide range of roles within CEL and we’d encourage you to find out more about each team and the roles available on their dedicated page.

If you support our values and want to help us deliver high quality services that help make Leeds the best city to live and work in then we’d love to hear from you. We’re a compassionate employer with a range of great benefits and a genuine commitment to your health and wellbeing.
