Youth Worker

Job title and organisation: Youth Worker - St Luke's CARES
Salary: £13,600 - £14,199
Hours: 18
Contract: Permanent
Location: South Leeds
Closing Date and Time: Monday 22nd June 2026

We are looking to recruit either a Qualified Youth Worker or an individual who is willing to work towards a recognised Youth Work qualification. In this role, you will engage, support, and inspire young people to develop their social, emotional, and personal capabilities, with a strong focus on improving wellbeing and reducing the risk factors associated with youth violence. This post is primarily funded through the Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP) and focuses on working with some of the most vulnerable and hardest-to-reach young people in South Leeds. You will work across a variety of settings, including Alternative Provision, schools, community venues, and through detached youth work within local neighborhoods. A key aspect of the role is building trusted, positive relationships with young people who may be disengaged from mainstream education, services, or support systems. We are looking for someone who can take a creative, flexible, and persistent approach to engagement meeting young people where they are, both physically and emotionally.

St Luke’s Cares is an innovative charity committed to supporting communities across inner South Leeds. Our programmes with young people include violence reduction work, youth employability, wellbeing work, mentoring, group work and detached work. As a charity we also have a large charity shop and furniture warehouse providing ESOL classes, retail training and volunteering as well as various other community initiatives and projects.
