This role is available on a fixed term contract for an initial 9 month period but with the possibility of further extension.
Our Way Leeds (OWL) - The support and accommodation service for young people in Leeds.
A wide range of support and accommodation is offered for individuals aged 16 to 25 living in Leeds. The focus is on preventing homelessness by providing housing advice and collaborating to enable young people to live independently.
The OWL Wellbeing service works with young people to improve their overall quality of life by offering activities that reduce social isolation and build confidence.
We empower young people by offering a wide array of support services that foster independence, mental wellbeing, and a strong sense of community.
Through personalised outreach, meaningful activities, and dedicated guidance, we help them overcome challenges, achieve their goals, and secure safety and stability. Our team is committed to supporting each individual throughout their journey, ensuring that no one has to face their challenges alone.
We help with goal setting, self-esteem, and decision-making to empower young people to thrive. The service works on an outreach basis across the city with young people up to the age of 25 to equip them with strategies to better manage their health and wellbeing, engaging them in positive activities and providing them with support, information and practical advice both on an individual basis and in groups. We offer:
- Personalised Support: One-to-one sessions focused on building confidence, resilience, and coping skills.
- Engaging Clubs: Developing and leading on opportunities for young people to participate in creative, social, and physical activities that develops their needs.
- Connection, developing natural support networks
- Mental Health Resources: Access to specialist services and signposting for personal challenges.
- Practical Guidance: Support with daily living skills, stress management, and creating healthy routines.
- Belonging: Encouraging relationships and shared experiences to combat isolation and foster a belonging.
Our team is dedicated to ensuring every young person feels supported, heard, and empowered to achieve their goals.
This role sits within GIPSIL's Community, Health & Prevention Team who offer Therapeutic and Wellbeing support to children and young people aged 4-25 in primary and secondary schools as well as outreach settings across Leeds.
