Birchfield Primary School is looking for a talented and dedicated teacher to join our hard-working, supportive, happy and friendly team.

Our pupils and the team at Birchfield would like to find a teacher who has a passion for teaching and education, is kind and caring and likes to have fun whilst providing high quality learning experiences.  The right person will share our family values and belief that our children deserve the best possible education and experience at our school.

We are a popular and over-subscribed one form entry primary school in the heart of the village of Gildersome in the South of Leeds.  We are determined to create an inclusive culture of learning where all children are valued and will be challenged in their thinking so they can achieve to the best of their abilities and become lifelong learners. The successful candidate will join an established team supported by an experienced leadership team and supportive and active governing body.

We are seeking an excellent classroom practitioner who:

  • Has a sound understanding of the importance of and responsibility for safeguarding and pupil well-being
  • Is passionate, enthusiastic, hardworking and energetic
  • Is committed to the highest standards of attainment and behaviour and have high expectations for all pupils
  • Has a good understanding of inclusive practice and adaptive teaching
  • Has a good understanding of how children learn and good pedagogical knowledge
  • Is caring, compassionate, values and builds strong relationships with children and their families and has a positive culture of respect in the classroom
  • Can plan and deliver the school curriculum creatively, engaging and captivating children
  • Has highly effective, well developed classroom management skills
  • Is able to inspire and motivate both pupils and colleagues
  • Enjoys working as part of a team
