The Bridge Project is a Bradford based charity with over 35 years’ experience delivering services and projects addressing a range of issues such as substance misuse, risk taking behaviours, relationships, housing, physical/mental health, and employment. We work with individuals, families, partners, and communities to improve people’s lives in a sustainable way, empowering people experiencing multiple barriers to achieve positive change.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the well-established multiple needs navigation service, as one of three Navigators, supported by a Senior and the Service Manager, delivering support to people who are at risk of re-offending and are managed by Probation Services. The cohort of people have multiple needs and find it difficult to engage in services for a variety of reasons.
The role aims to improve the lives and wellbeing of people with multiple needs who find it difficult to engage in services, as identified by the Probation Service, revolve in and out of services or are excluded from services. Navigators will work in an outreach capacity to help people who experience multiple needs (housing, substance misuse, offending behaviour, mental health, and physical health) to access the services and the interventions that they need to build their resilience, gain confidence, and acquire the personal and social assets they need to meet their aspirations.
You will be working in a supportive team providing important and meaningful support to those who need it, while gaining knowledge and experience of working with clients in specialist services. You will be provided with training and development opportunities, mentoring and supervision sessions.
The traineeship will run for 12 months. At the end of the traineeship, you will be expected to have reached a level of knowledge and experience to enable you to apply for other roles within The Bridge Project or other similar support services.
Bridge is a value driven organisation and we are looking for a trainee who can demonstrate our key behaviours such as working proactively, being client focussed and values and respects others. You will place individuals at the heart of your interactions, with the ability to build up a rapport and trust, with personal skills around warmth, compassion, empathy and resilience with a desire to help people and get things done. Often situations can sometimes be difficult and challenging so you will need to have a non-judgemental approach and strong professional boundaries.
It is essential that the successful candidate has a driving licence with access to a vehicle in order to transport clients in connection with the role. A willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check is also a requirement of the post.
As well as a rewarding career, in return we can offer a competitive salary, 4% pension contribution, excellent annual leave entitlement, employee assistance scheme, life insurance and a programme of mindfulness activities for staff. The Bridge Project is a Mindful Employer.
