The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting both learning and wellbeing.
You will:
- Work in partnership with teachers to support high-quality teaching
- Deliver targeted support for individuals and small groups
- Lead or contribute to interventions that accelerate pupil progress
- Support the development of independence, resilience and confidence
- Help maintain a calm, structured and purposeful classroom environment
Early Years role:
You will support children at the very start of their school journey, helping to develop communication, early language, phonics and social skills through structured provision and play-based learning.
Key Stage 1 & 2 role:
You will support pupils to secure core skills in English and Maths, build independence and prepare for the next stage of their education, including delivering focused interventions where needed.
The Person
We are looking for individuals who are professional, proactive and committed to improving outcomes for children.
You will have:
- Experience of working with children in a school or similar setting
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Good literacy and numeracy skills (minimum Grade C / Level 4/5)
- The ability to remain calm, consistent and adaptable
- A willingness to take initiative and contribute to the wider team
For candidates applying at Level 2, we would expect:
- Proven experience of effectively supporting learning in the classroom
- Confidence in delivering interventions and adapting support to meet pupil need
For the Key Stage 2 role, recent school-based experience is essential.
For the Early Years role, experience in an EYFS setting is strongly preferred.
