Birchfield is a special place, where our family values are at the core of our ethos. We are a small, friendly and welcoming school in the heart of Gildersome village.
We are seeking to employ a talented, hardworking and highly committed and nurturing teaching assistant to support a child with special educational needs.
This is a temporary role for one year in the first instance (with a 4 week probationary period), with the likelihood of continuation beyond that, funding dependent. You will ideally have experience of working with children with additional needs and a specialism in Autism. This would be beneficial but not essential as training will be provided for the successful candidate.
The hours are 8.30am to 3.45 pm each day, you will have a 30 minute lunch duty each day and a 30-minute lunch break.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate personal qualities of dedication, patience, flexibility and humour. They will work collaboratively as part of an effective team. They will be able to respond quickly to the changing needs of the school and individual/groups of children. They will have a positive mindset and a 'can-do', solution focused approach.
Our pupils and the team at Birchfield would like to find a teaching assistant who has a passion for teaching and education, is kind and caring and likes to have fun whilst providing learning experiences of the highest quality.
