Teaching Assistant – Temporary Contract 

Term Time Only + 5 days – 32hr 15min week (Pro-Rata)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant to join our staff team. We are looking for a caring, conscientious person who will ensure all of our children will have a champion in their classroom who pushes them to achieve.   

This rewarding role encompasses working with the class teacher to create a warm, engaging and supportive classroom. You will support the teacher during lessons, working with all the children in the class to make the next steps in their learning. 

You will also support the children with the pastoral side of school, helping them at playtime and dinner to ensure school is a happy place to be. 

Our last inspection highlighted that we have a clear vision of what children at Hunslet Carr need to be well prepared for secondary school. We are looking for someone to join our team to ensure we continue to deliver this vision.

Our new Teaching Assistant will be someone who:

  • Is positive, resilient, well-mannered and an excellent communicator
  • Is friendly, efficient and approachable to children, parents and staff
  • Understands children’s needs; ensuring each child is support with their next steps in learning
  • Is happy to support children throughout the day, at playtime and lunch
  • Believes every child needs a champion; the person who says, ‘I believe in you’ even if the child doesn’t yet believe in them self.
