Horsforth School is seeking to appoint a passionate and inspirational Subject Lead of Science. We are looking for an outstanding practitioner with the vision, subject expertise, and leadership skills to build upon and further enhance an already highly successful Computer Science provision across the school. Working closely with and supported by the Curriculum Leader, the successful candidate will help sustain excellence, drive innovation, and ensure the curriculum continues to evolve to meet the needs of students in a rapidly changing digital world. 

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and delivering a high-quality and ambitious Computer Science curriculum. They will inspire, challenge, and prepare students for the future in an ever-evolving digital world, fostering a deep and lasting enthusiasm for Computer Science.

The Computing and IT department at Horsforth School is growing and forward-thinking. As Subject Lead of Computer Science, you will lead on the curriculum design and development of Computer Science, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and assessment. You will be supported by the Curriculum Leader and will work closely with an experienced and skilled Computing and IT team. Students currently study OCR GCSE Computer Science and OCR A Level Computer Science, alongside a range of IT qualifications at Level 3.

We are seeking a leader who can build on the department’s current strengths, drive achievement, and inspire a genuine love of Computer Science in students of all abilities. You will be committed to high expectations, inclusive practice, and developing both students and colleagues.
