Study Supervisor
C1 £26,421-£28,770 (pro-rata £23,308-£25,380)
Permanent position
Term time only plus 10 days
Carr Manor Community School (CMCS) is an all-through school at an exciting phase of expansion and development across both our primary and secondary phases. We are proud of our caring and inclusive reputation and have a strong team of professionals committed to developing and delivering a broad curriculum to children aged 4-19.
We are one of the founding partners of the Leeds Learning Alliance and we are looking forward to further developing our partnerships over the forthcoming months and years.
We are now looking to appoint a dynamic, innovative and skilful Study Supervisor to work across the Primary and Secondary phases who has the tenacity, skills and flexibility to work in a fast-moving environment and the passion to help our children to progress and develop.
The successful candidate will have a strong academic record, including Maths and English GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent), well developed communication and organisational skills and good IT skills with the ability to utilise the full range of Microsoft Word applications. We welcome applications from primary ECT’s. The purpose of this role is to provide effective study supervision in the classroom in the absence of the teacher, thus ensuring that pupils’ learning can continue. The postholder will be expected to undertake a wide range of duties including: - supervising pupils in the classroom; supporting curricular areas in the development of resources and lesson plans; liaising with colleagues across the school; supporting out of hours learning and break time activities; maintaining good classroom behaviour management; and monitoring pupil progress.
It is essential that the post-holder shares our school’s ethos, which is firmly rooted in a restorative approach and the following values: to ‘Know our children well’: to be ‘Partners in Learning’: to develop ‘Character for Learning’; to ‘Enjoy and Achieve’. We firmly believe that in order to move forwards we need to be prepared and able to ‘do things differently and do different things’. We work restoratively with pupils, families and with each other, to maintain the ‘strong community culture' that Ofsted recognised when they visited us in July 2018.
We significantly invest in the development and training of all colleagues who are equally happy to share their expertise, skills and knowledge across the organisation. If you are looking to be stretched and challenged within a positive and creative staff team and you have a genuine desire to make a positive difference to our children, please submit an application form, covering letter and CV to hrrecruitment@carrmanor.org.uk by noon on Friday 3rd January 2025. For further details about the role, please phone us on 0113 3368400 or visit www.carrmanor.org.uk/vacancies, where you will find our privacy notice, which is applicable for all job applicants.
We promote diversity and want a workforce which reflects the population of Leeds. This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All successful applications will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check and satisfactory references.
"The relationships between staff and pupils are extremely positive. Pupils wear their uniform with pride and are respectful to each other and staff. There is a calm and purposeful atmosphere in the school." (Ofsted, July 2018)
