Due to retirement Whitecote Primary School is seeking a reliable and committed Site Superintendent. This is a key role in ensuring our school environment is safe, welcoming, and well‑maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors.

We are looking for an individual who is flexible, proactive, adaptable and able to respond effectively to a range of site-related tasks. The successful candidate will be a clear communicator, calm under pressure, and able to work independently as well as under direction. The role requires the ability to work efficiently as part of a team and to engage professionally with staff and pupils.

This role will particularly suit a candidate with experience in general repairs, basic plumbing, and routine site maintenance, coupled with the motivation to complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard.

About the Role

  • This is a split‑shift position covering opening and closing of the school
  • Working hours: 7.30am–6.00pm with a break during the day
  • 37 hours per week, all year round
  • Responsible for daily site security and ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of the school
  • A varied role including general repairs, maintenance, and health & safety duties

Key Responsibilities

  • Opening, securing and monitoring the school premises each day
  • Carrying out general maintenance, repairs and caretaking tasks
  • Monitoring the condition of buildings, equipment and furniture
  • Supporting health & safety compliance across the site
  • Liaising with contractors and assisting with school events when needed
