Join Our Team at Rawdon St Peter’s C of E Primary School

Rawdon St Peter’s C of E Primary School is a thriving, nurturing community with a rich history, beautifully set amidst greenbelt land at the foot of The Billing. Our children are keen, respectful learners, and we enjoy excellent relationships with families and the wider community.

We are looking for a flexible, diligent, and caring Site Superintendent to help maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-kept environment across our school buildings and grounds. No two days are the same—you might care for outdoor spaces one day, collaborate with staff to improve learning environments the next, or respond to repairs and maintenance tasks. Previous experience in premises work is advantageous, along with confidence using tools, DIY, decorating, grounds maintenance, and supervising cleaning staff. You will liaise with contractors, maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness, and keep comprehensive health and safety records.

You will be an outstanding role model for our children, work closely with an enthusiastic staff team, and interact professionally with school members and contractors. As Site Superintendent, you will be directly line-managed by the School Business Manager. We are open to flexible working patterns where these meet the needs of the school and would consider a job-share arrangement.

During periods of adverse weather, particularly in winter, start times may vary to allow for essential duties such as morning gritting to keep the site safe.

Joining Rawdon St Peter’s means being part of a supportive, friendly team. You will receive a full induction, guidance from experienced colleagues, and the opportunity to make a real difference in a year-round role, including school holidays. Our mission is simple: to inspire each child — and each other — to be the best we can be, every lesson, every day.

The contract is for all year round, including school holidays.

We welcome prospective applicants to come and visit our school prior to applying, please contact Victoria Huzzey, School Business Manager at v.huzzey@rawdonstpeters.co.uk or call the office at 0113 250 4201 to make an appointment.

Application information and forms are available on our school website or on request by email/phone to the school.

If you are selected for interview we will start contacting your references straight away.

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check against the Children’s barred list will be carried out on preferred candidates. Read our recruitment of ex-offenders policy.

We welcome applications from everyone and actively seek a diverse range of applicants from all backgrounds and cultures. We particularly encourage applications from, but not limited to, women, carers, veterans as well as LGBT+, ethnically diverse, disabled and care experienced people.
