Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Shift-based role across 5 days, including weekends (Typical shifts: weekdays 15:00 - 21:30, Saturdays 11:30 -19:00, Sundays 09:30 - 19:00). 
Contract: Permanent - all year round
Location: The Grammar School at Leeds, Harrogate Road, LS17 North Leeds

We’re looking for a reliable and proactive Security & Amenities Supervisor to support the safe, secure and smooth operation of our school facilities during after-school activities and external lettings.

This is a hands-on supervisory role, ideal for someone who enjoys being visible on site, leading by example and providing excellent customer service to a wide range of users. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our pupils, colleagues, visitors and external customers feel safe, welcomed and well supported at all times.

This is a newly created role within our evolving Estates and Security structure, designed to strengthen on-site supervision and support as our school continues to grow and develop. Alongside this post, we are also recruiting a Security & Amenities Manager and a Security & Amenities Operative, creating a small, dedicated team focused on maintaining a safe, welcoming and well-managed site for our school community and external users.

The Role  

As Security & Amenities Supervisor, you’ll work closely with and deputise for the Security & Amenities Manager, providing on-site supervision during evenings and weekends.

Your role will include: 

  • Supervising security cover and staffing levels across shift patterns
  • Carrying out regular site patrols and security checks 
  • Monitoring access points, exits and site activity, challenging unsafe or inappropriate behaviour where needed 
  • Acting as the main on-site contact for external lettings, ensuring excellent customer service 
  • Supporting safe access for out-of-hours activities, trips and lettings 
  • Ensuring facilities are left secure, tidy and correctly set up or closed down 
  • Working with Estates and Amenities teams to support events, room setups and equipment 
  • Monitoring and reporting on the swimming pool in line with procedures
  • Supporting access control processes, including staff ID cards (with HR approval)
  • This role requires a flexible approach, with regular evening and weekend working as part of a rota.

This role requires flexibility, including evening and weekend working, to ensure appropriate security coverage across the school year.

We’re looking for a professional, approachable supervisor with experience in site security, facilities or estates work, who is confident overseeing shifts, dealing with incidents and delivering excellent customer service. You’ll be calm under pressure, organised, reliable and committed to safeguarding and high standards across the site.
