School Business Manager (E7907) - Ireland Wood Primary School

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a School Business Manager to join our busy, friendly school. 

As School Business Manager, you will work in partnership with the Head Teacher and Senior Leadership Team to ensure the effective delivery of business and operational services. You will lead across finance, HR, administration, and premises management (including facilities and health & safety), always ensuring best practices are followed.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and manage the business operations of the school, including finance, HR, administration, and premises management.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head Teacher and Senior Leadership Team to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Efficiently manage school resources, ensuring that the school’s finance and business operations run smoothly and effectively.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with senior leadership and the governing body to support key decision-making.
  • Ensure the highest standards of health and safety, facilities management, and overall school operations.

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • A proven track record in leading the business function within education (or a similarly complex environment)
  • Strong skills in strategic planning, decision-making, financial management and resource allocation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at senior leadership and governing body levels.
  • Flexibility, problem-solving skills, and a tactful approach to handling challenges on a daily basis.
  • A passion for providing an outstanding service to the school community and contributing to positive outcomes for our children and young people.
