About the role

You will be responsible for the smooth running of the Reception environment.  Key aspects of the post involve To deal with all initial front of house customer issues, conveying a caring attitude to all users of the centre and to assist in the provision of the Centre’s administrative. The Receptionist will work as a member of the Team within an operational sporting facility environment.  There will be extensive contact with members of the public and ensuring a high level of customer care is achieved.

Job Purpose

  • To deal with all initial front of house customer issues, conveying a caring attitude to all users of the centre and to assist in the provision of the Centre’s administrative support.

Responsibilities

  • To take bookings made over the telephone and in person at reception.
  • To process payments for bookings in accordance with the City Council’s Financial procedures.
  • To possess a sound knowledge of activities and services within the centre and to promote/sell them accordingly.
  • To deal with customer enquiries as the initial point of contact.
  • To assist the Centre Management team in the delivery of the administrative and financial procedures of the Centre.
  • To carry out the above duties in compliance with the Council’s policies e.g. Equal Opportunities, Green Strategy, etc.
  • To undertake any further duties which may be commensurate with the grade of the post.

  • Experience of working in an environment which provides regular contact with the public
  • Experience of cash handling
