Contract: part time (0.5) - working pattern Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday morning to fit with existing job share, temporary in the first instance

Lower Wortley Primary School wishes to appoint a committed, caring and highly effective teacher to work in our Early Years team in the Reception setting. This post will be a job share for one of our two Reception classes and will also involve working closely alongside another Reception teacher sharing the same classroom space.  We are a friendly and welcoming school that works hard to ensure that children fulfil their potential and prepare for the next stage of learning and life.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an exemplary classroom practitioner with high expectations of pupils’ behaviour and learning and a clear understanding of the Early Years Framework and statutory requirements
  • Actively contribute to the EYFS team and play a full role in the whole life of the school including our extra-curricular provision
  • Be committed to ensuring that learning is effective for all children, including those with SEND
  • Have a clear understanding of how to use different forms of assessment to identify learning needs in order to support the development of all children
  • Be hardworking, organised and able to meet deadlines
  • Form good relationships within the team and manage non-teaching staff effectively
  • Be able to demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and their families
  • Demonstrate the ability to be an effective subject leader and contribute to the implementation and monitoring of our school curriculum
