About this Role:
The overall purpose of the Area Inclusion Partnership is to improve outcomes for vulnerable young people at risk of suspension or permanent exclusion. NEPAIP provides an inclusion base for primary children with SEMH needs and offers a range of interventions, support and advice for 45 primary schools in the North East of Leeds on an outreach basis, helping them develop the skills for positive inclusion and to succeed in school.
As Outreach Inclusion Leader, you will support targeted interventions throughout the 45 primary schools within the North East Primary AIP. Most of the children we support remain in their mainstream schools, while others move to different schools or onto specialist provision. Through effective deployment of resources across the NE area, you will help ensure that children, young people and their families at greatest risk of poor outcomes receive coordinated packages of support.
You will work closely alongside our team, partner schools and many different agencies and services to improve outcomes for children. Based at Leopold Street, you will carry out intervention support within schools in the 2gether, A.R.M and EPOS clusters, as well as offering your knowledge and experience within our inclusion base to build on our local offer.
What We're Looking For.
Essential:
- Experience working with primary-aged children with SEMH needs, both in small groups and 1:1
- Strong knowledge of inclusion practices and supporting vulnerable pupils at risk of exclusion
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-agency team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with schools, families and external agencies
- Experience of designing and delivering targeted interventions
- Thorough knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Ability to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage your own workload
- Proven high levels of literacy and numeracy (equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or GCSE Grade C/4)
- Team Teach Trained (or willing to undertake this qualification)
Desirable:
- Level 3 qualification or above
- Degree-level qualification
- Experience working within primary education
- Full current driving licence and use of own car
