You would also be helping people in the community by being the first point of contact for people suffering from Domestic Violence and Abuse to get help. Leeds Women’s Aid (LWA) is the largest women’s charitable organisation in Leeds and provides services for victims of domestic violence and abuse, honour-based violence, forced marriage, trafficking, stalking and harassment and is the lead agency for two consortiums, Leeds Domestic Violence Service and Women’s Lives Leeds.
LWA are looking Out of Hours Workers to cover a variety of shifts (days, nights and weekends) in refuges and safe houses in Leeds. The successful candidate will be expected to help keep the refuge accommodation safe and secure, answer the 24 helpline and respond to individuals and families in our accommodation
You will need:
- An understanding of Domestic Violence & Abuse and risk and safety issues
- The ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations
- Values consistent with those of LWA and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
