St John’s Catholic Specialist School is a school for young people up to 19 years with special educational needs. Our mission is to support our students to gain the knowledge and skills they will need to thrive in adult life.
We are looking for caring individuals to join a team of experienced and supportive colleagues working with St John’s students at school or college. Every day is different and staff work with pupils with a range of different needs which include sensory impairments, communication and learning challenges or autism. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team of dedicated professionals who are committed to providing the very best life chances for our students.
The role includes:
- Supporting learning in lessons or intervention groups
- Enhancing pupils’ communication skills
- Promoting pupils’ self-esteem, independence and participation within the school, colleges and local community
Our ideal candidate will be someone who is compassionate but purposeful, focussing on maximising pupils’ progress; someone who works well in a team and is open to developing new skills. We are looking for people who want to make a positive difference every day and are committed to helping all our young people feel respected and valued.
In return we can offer:
- Comprehensive training
- Coaching from knowledgeable and experienced colleagues
- A school which actively promotes the well-being of staff
- A school culture that encourages everyone to achieve their best
