Could you bring the British Library to life for pupils and teachers at schools in Leeds?

We’re looking for someone to deliver collections-based, curriculum-focused workshops. You’ll love working with children and young people and be passionate about supporting teachers. 

You’ll have experience of creating learning opportunities in relevant subject areas. You’ll be working independently much of the time within our small Leeds team, so must be self-motivated and organised.

The British Library’s Learning Team is responsible for leading on the Library’s engagement with school students, teachers, families, and adult learners. The collection is at the heart of this unique learning programme which offers a range of opportunities for audiences to explore, connect and interact both onsite, online and across the UK and internationally. 

The Learning Facilitator devises and delivers a range of exciting learning opportunities for groups inspired by the British Library and our collection. Our sessions are skills-based and cross-curricular, supporting a variety of subjects with a focus on English Literature, English Language, and the Humanities. The role delivers sessions for Primary and Secondary schools as well as special schools, supplementary schools, home education groups, teachers, and other learning groups. 

Alongside facilitating learning sessions and providing a high-quality customer experience, the post holder will undertake collection-based and curriculum research, resource-making, evaluation, administration and other duties in support of the programme.
