West Oaks School is a 2–19 special school and a highly rewarding place to work and lead. Having entered a new phase of leadership, we are strategically focused on strengthening and aligning our teaching and learning offer across our three sites, supporting over 500 pupils with SEND across Leeds.

We are seeking a full time experienced and aspirational HR Manager to join our senior leadership team from May 2026. This is a key role, working closely with the Principal and Heads of School to deliver an exemplary HR service across our three sites.

As HR Manager, you will:

  •  Deliver an exemplary HR service across the school
  • To work closely with the Principal to lead on, shape and implement effective HR strategies that support the school’s goals and vision.
  • To manage the HR caseload for the school with an aim of achieving efficient and positive outcomes that nurture strong employee relations
  • To ensure effective and robust processes and practices, ensuring full compliance with employment and data protection law and statutory guidance

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an experienced HR practitioner
  • Be a team player with a flexible, positive and proactive team-player
  • Have excellent attention to detail, organisational and communication skills,
  • Have ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of colleague

West Oaks operates across three sites: Woodhouse Learning, Boston Spa Learning, and Headingley Learning. The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal and Heads of School to deliver an exemplary HR service across our sites. The successful candidate will be based at our Headingley site and will work across all sites.
