An exciting opportunity to combine teaching across Key Stage 2 with leading and developing a vibrant school library and inspiring a lifelong love of reading in children.
We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic and highly organised Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team in this exciting new full-time role. This unique position incorporates approx 0.6 FTE teaching responsibility, covering full classes across Key Stage 2 (predominantly UKS2) to provide high-quality PPA time, with 0.4 FTE dedicated time to lead and develop our school library and deliver targeted reading interventions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in creating an attractive, welcoming and well-organised library environment, promoting a wide range of authors, genres and texts, and inspiring children to develop a genuine love of reading. They will help ensure the library becomes a valued and well-used space that supports both reading for pleasure and pupil progress.
This role would suit an experienced HLTA or a qualified teacher seeking a rewarding position focused on teaching and reading development without the full responsibilities of class teaching. We are looking for someone who is passionate about education and reading, committed to high standards, and capable of teaching and supporting children from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate will be creative, proactive and able to inspire pupils through both high-quality teaching and the development of a vibrant reading culture.
This is a fantastic opportunity to shape a new role and make a lasting impact as part of a supportive and ambitious school team.
