About the role
This is a 6 to 12 month opportunity as Service Delivery Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth delivery of key projects within our Highways Maintenance Department, supporting the team by managing vital administrative tasks, coordinating communication between stakeholders, and helping drive efficiency across the board. Your contributions will be essential to the success of the team, providing the backbone for operational excellence and making a tangible impact on the organisation's goals.
The role is integral to our Highways Maintenance team, which is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient upkeep of road networks. Your role will be key in facilitating communication between the Highways Maintenance team and other departments, helping to streamline processes and keep essential services running smoothly for the community.

Job Purpose:
- To support teams to contribute to the successful delivery on the key objectives of the Highways and Transportation service priorities and business development opportunities.
- To support the Highways Maintenance Revitalisation Project (HMRP) Team and Senior Operations Manager with the successful delivery of major projects and work programmes within Highways and Transportation.
- To engage with partners and other stakeholders to gain agreement and commitment to delivering change, co-operation and resources to successfully deliver service improvements
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the continued drive to improve services, ensuring we deliver high quality services that are value for money.
- Assist the Highways Maintenance Revitalisation Project (HMRP) Team in supporting projects with the Highways Maintenance Service to improve performance, effectiveness, and value for money to ensure the delivery of specific outcomes within agreed deadlines.
- Contribute to the engineering management of schemes by providing business support, seeking out benchmarking and good practice.
- Responsible for reviewing and providing key performance data collection and support the administration of any relevant risk based information.
- Assisting in the management of communications.
- Providing statistical information to senior officers in relation to projects and scheme progress including data gathering.
- Other duties which are commensurate with the grade and within the purpose of the post.
The postholder will work collaboratively with colleagues, knowing when to seek help and advice.

Qualifications:
Essential Requirements
- Essential - Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
- Full UK Driver’s licence or ability to travel to Seacroft, Yeadon, and Pottery Fields Highways Maintenance Depots.
Desirable Requirements
Degree or qualification in business or project management desirable.
