We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to take a lead role in setting up, organising and overseeing a full range of play activities over the lunchtime period as well as delivering a range of outdoor learning lessons at other times of the school day. The successful candidate will work alongside SLT to support the wider staff team with the introduction of positive enhancements for pupils during lunchtime. They will plan and lead whole class outdoor learning lessons at other times in the school day. The successful candidate will liaise with our sustainability lead to carry out key actions from our climate action plan and support pupils and staff with this important work. This role will involve planning, preparing and delivering outdoor learning activities for whole classes, groups and/or for individuals. It will involve monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupils’ achievement, progress and development. This is a unique role for an individual who is passionate about outdoor play and outdoor learning as a mechanism for pupils to develop greater ecological literacy. The role will enhance and support our existing climate curriculum work as well as develop pupil independence, creativity and responsibility for nature and our local environment.
We require a committed person who wants to play an active role in ensuring that all pupils including SEND pupils receive provision of the highest quality. We can offer training in methods of curriculum delivery of proven effectiveness, a team based approach to planning and a range of opportunities for continuing professional development, including collaboration with the four other primary schools in our Trust.
We are a two form entry school and this post is a temporary post. A comprehensive induction programme will be provided for the successful applicant.
Hours of work: 37 hours per week, term time only plus five training days. Temporary contract, one year in the first instance.
