People in Action (Yorkshire) is a well-established, dynamic Leeds-based charity that has been supporting learning disabled and autistic people since 1983. We deliver innovative, inclusive, and person-centred services that empower people to live healthier, safer and more connected lives.

The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced PHWB Project Manager to lead and develop our Personal Health and Wellbeing project. This project delivers vital arts, social, cooking, and exercise groups designed to improve the health and wellbeing of learning disabled and autistic adults in Leeds.

You will oversee seven groups, ensuring they meet the needs and aspirations of our members while managing a team of dedicated staff and volunteers. You will liaise with a range of stakeholders, from families and social workers to external partners, and ensure the project meets its contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Personal Health and Wellbeing project, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services
  • Manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure accurate resource allocation
  • Drive member engagement and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Recruit, manage, and support staff and volunteers, promoting a culture of wellbeing and development
  • Oversee the evaluation and monitoring of the project to ensure it meets agreed outcomes
  • Ensure the project complies with all relevant policies, procedures, and legislation
  • Be the first point of contact for prospective members, conducting assessments and maintaining records

What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for a proactive individual with excellent organisational and communication skills, who can manage complex projects and balance competing priorities. Previous experience in managing health and social care projects, including overseeing budgets and staff, is essential. A commitment to inclusivity and a genuine desire to empower others are key to success in this role.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Project management experience, ideally within health and social care
  • Strong leadership and staff management abilities
  • Budget management and financial reporting experience
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends

Desirable:

  • NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or a formal project management qualification
  • Familiarity with the Social Model of Disability and services for learning disabled and autistic people in Leeds

What We Offer:

  • 25 days of annual leave plus statutory holidays.

  • A salary of £20,819.26 per annum (subject to review).
