We are re-advertising for the position of Deputy Headteacher as we know that the right person is still waiting to join our successful and thriving school. Candidates who applied last time are welcome to reapply; please be aware that we hope that there will be a strong focus in your application form on strategic skills and that the application form has been formatted with fixed boxes.
This post is open to all leaders and aspiring leaders who have a passion for education and the skills and dedication to lead others. The role requires strategic thinking and an ability to lead whilst focusing on developing strong relationships. Our school is known as a joyful place of learning where “pupils flourish” (Ofsted October 2024.) We are a community school with a family ethos, where children and staff achieve their potential. Our vision statement is “enjoying, achieving and learning together” and this vision applies to everyone in our school community.
We would welcome applications from qualified and experienced school leaders who can demonstrate excellent teaching and learning skills, a commitment to working collaboratively and an innovative approach to education. The post will add to our existing leadership team. We expect that the successful candidate will bring to our school, honesty, openness to new ideas, a warm nurturing personality and will quickly develop an understanding of families and children in our community.
We are a two- form entry school serving the communities of Rodley, Bramley, and Farsley. We have a strong reputation for high expectations, an aspirational curriculum for both personal and academic achievement and exceptionally strong relationships with the whole school community. Our forest school provision and the creative use of our generous outdoor spaces are examples of our continuous drive for innovative practices to enable our children to flourish.
Our Deputy Headteacher will not have a regular teaching commitment and will be expected to lead and have experience across the full primary age range. We hope that this post will not be your first experience of leading a range of different teams in a school setting and that you will be a strong role model for others.
Candidates are asked to indicate areas of interest and strength, and should share our commitment to continually improve standards across school. In particular, we hope that the successful candidate will take a lead in developing staff, securing accountability and being able to apply and transfer their existing leadership strengths to a new setting. Candidates should refer to the person specification and job description for further information.
We have high expectations of all staff and would advise all potential candidates that they should make contact with the school by email or telephone so that you are well aware of our application procedure. The school is committed to keeping children safe and will stringently follow procedures to endorse this.
Visits to the school are essential for you to feel our ethos and values. We would request that appointments are made through the school office on 0113 255 4972 or by email at office@valleyviewschool.org.uk.
