We are currently seeking two cooks, one for for Ripon House and Cardigan House Leeds.
Progress To Change runs two Approved Premises (formerly known as Probation and Bail Hostels) in Leeds. Ripon House provides a service for women offenders and Cardigan House works with male offenders. Both Approved Premises (AP) operate alongside the National Probation Service (NPS) Approved Premises. Nationally there are fourteen APs that are independently managed. All APs operate to a national agreement / rules.
Purpose of Job Role
- To provide nutritious meals for up to 22/25 residents at the weekend, taking account of all dietary requirements. In addition, ensuring the kitchen operates within relevant health and safety and food hygiene legislation, and providing a safe environment for residents.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals for up to 22/25 residents on Saturday and Sunday.
- Ensure that all dietary requirements are met including halal, gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, etc.
- Ensure a score of at least 4 is achieved during Leeds City Council Hygiene Inspections.
- Ensuring all areas of the kitchen, dining areas are all clean, tidy.
- Ensuring all food stuff is stored, rotated and disposed of correctly and safely.
- Wash up of all utensils
- Maintain an excellent standard of health, safety and security in the execution of your duties.
Relevant Experience:
- Experience of developing, implementing and maintaining procedures / systems re Food Hygiene
- Ability to prepare a meal for up to 22 residents
- Experience of assisting with relevant Health and Safety systems
Relevant Knowledge:
- Food Hygiene legislation
- Health and Safety legislation / pro social behaviour
- Knowledge of diverse backgrounds
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- COSHH Training/Awareness
- First Aid Certificate
Hours
12 hours (8am to 2pm Saturday and Sunday) possibility of additional Weekday hours to cover leave / sickness of housekeeper/cook
