The Ad: Venture Business Growth Programme has had funding to provide business support to help new businesses to start up and young businesses to grow across West Yorkshire.

We are seeking to appoint a Contract Support Officer to provide comprehensive support to include the provision of expertise on Microsoft 365 databases and the CRM.

Main duties include:

  • To maintain Microsoft 365 database for recording outputs including monitoring of finances and key deliverables supported by the Compliance Manager.
  • Develop technical expertise to maintain the CRM and resolve technical issues arising from registered users ensuring quick response to issues as flagged.
  • To have knowledge of contractual outputs and outcomes and to monitor the performance of partners ensuring all programme information is accurately recorded on our systems. Support the compliance manager to undertake internal and external audits with partners
  • To use Microsoft 365 to support the Programme Manager by producing financial reports for the Project Board and funding partners when required.

The position is full time and is offered on a fixed term basis until March 2026 – with a prospect of extension subject to funding. The post holder will be based at our offices in Leeds city centre and the role will involve travel to other districts within West Yorkshire and also working from home.

As this is a fixed term position, secondments from within LCC and partner organisations would be very welcome. Please seek the approval of an appropriate senior manager before applying for the post.

Job description

  • To provide a comprehensive support service to the AD: VENTURE Business Growth Programme, as a member of a pool of Contract Support Officers primarily providing specific support to the programme’s funding agreement, and also working flexibly to cover enquiry handling, CRM reporting, other administrative tasks as needed.

Principal Accountabilities

  • To maintain Microsoft 365 database for recording outputs including monitoring of finances and key deliverables supported by the Compliance Manager.
  • Develop technical expertise to maintain the CRM and resolve technical issues arising from registered users ensuring quick response to issues as flagged.
  • To have knowledge of contractual outputs and outcomes and to monitor the performance of partners ensuring all programme information is accurately recorded on our systems. Support the compliance manager to undertake internal and external audits with partners
  • To use data extracted from the CRM system to produce Power BI reports for the Project Board and funding partners when required.

Other Accountabilities as required

  • To support the programme with procurement activities, ensuring all procurement guidelines are followed in line with Leeds Council and external funding requirements.
  • To respond to enquiries from businesses, partners and a range of stakeholders in an effective and professional manner.
  • To assist team members as appropriate to arrange programme related meetings, workshops and briefings, including producing agendas, collating papers, taking minutes and recording any follow up actions.
  • To carry out research work, investigate analyse and provide statistical and management information which enables the production and presentation of briefings and reports.
  • To assist with capturing and communicating information from Economic Development programmes and associated projects and work streams within the City Development Directorate.
  • To develop effective relationships and communications with key stakeholders, partner authorities across West Yorkshire and delivery partners: Business Enterprise Fund and The Prince’s Trust.
  • To raise orders, check invoices and record income/expenditure using the council’s electronic filing systems (FMS) and help with the administration of external funding claims.

  • Other duties of a similar nature and responsibility which provide the team with day to day business support in order to assist the effectiveness and efficiency of the Service.
