Part time Cleaner 

Required ASAP 

Term time only – 10 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 3.30pm – 5.30pm, Friday 3.00pm-5.00pm – or Monday to Friday 6.30am to 8.30 am.

St John’s Catholic Specialist School is a school for young people up to 19 years with special educational needs. Our mission is to support our students to gain the knowledge and skills they will need to thrive in adult life.

We are looking for a caring, dynamic and committed cleaner to join a team of experienced and supportive colleagues working at St John’s school. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team of dedicated professionals who are committed to providing the very best life chances for our students.   

The role includes: 

  • Sweeping, vacuum cleaning and mopping of floors.
  • Emptying litterbins.
  • Polishing and dusting of surfaces and fixtures and fittings.
  • Cleaning of changing rooms, toilets and shower facilities, including replenishment of paper towels, toilet rolls and other disposables.
  • Using appropriate powered equipment e.g. Scrubber Drier.
  • To notify line management or other Senior member of staff, of any damage to buildings and equipment or anything you see that may be dangerous to pupils or staff.
  • To inform Site Supervisor of matters requiring attention e.g. light bulb replacement, blocked toilets
  • To inform Site Supervisor when there is low stock of cleaning materials and other disposables
  • To undertake training in the correct use of cleaning equipment as appropriate.
  • Additional cleaning for one-off occasions i.e. Open Evenings, Visits etc. 

At all times to carry out the duties in accordance with school-based policies and Health and Safety procedures.
