Job title: Synchronised Swimming Coach (Casual) City Development- Sport & Active Lifestyles

Salary: Up to £14.82 an hour.

Hours: Casual

Location: John Charles Centre for Sport - Aquatics Centre, Pudsey Leisure Centre & Aireborough Leisure Centre.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Synchronised Swimming Coach to join the Leeds City Council Synchronised Swimming Training Scheme, a growing programme enjoying current success and fantastic future potential. The successful applicant would be responsible for assisting in the development of synchronised swimming, building a participation programme that supports club development and increases active participation across the City. Knowledge of the Swim England Grade Process and World Aquatics Rules for Artistic swimming essential.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to help deliver a fun, safe, and engaging experience for all participants while promoting the sport of Synchronised Swimming across all Leeds City Council facilities. The successful candidate will be confident in leading coaching sessions, supporting the development of assistant coaches, and inspiring participants of all ages and abilities. You will play a key role in creating a positive learning environment that encourages skill progression, teamwork, and enjoyment of the sport.

Strong planning, organisational, and time-management skills are essential for this role. A proactive attitude and a willingness to undertake additional training and professional development are also required.

Responsibilities

Role specific responsibilities

  • You will be required to prepare and run engaging sessions of Synchronised swimming - to help generate skills and talent along with increasing membership into the Council’s scheme.
  • Keep up to date with all Swim England Governing Body Guidance and Grading Content.
  • To assist in the delivery of a structured programme within the Synchronised Swimming Training Scheme
  • Inspiring participants of all ages across the city boundaries. 

Qualifications

Swim England Assistant Coaching Certificate

  • Strong planning, organisational, and time-management skills are essential for this role.
  • NPLQ / Reach Rescue awards
