Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support for pupils with physical and medical needs, including hygiene, feeding, physiotherapy, and behaviour support.
• Assist students during lessons, encouraging engagement and independence.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive learning environment, including managing hygiene areas and resources.
• Supervise students during non-classroom times such as breaks and trips.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCo, and parents to ensure individual care plans are followed and documented.
• Contribute to the school’s inclusive ethos and student coaching programme.

Essential Requirements

• Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths or equivalent).
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Experience or understanding of care-related roles.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality.

Desirable

• Relevant care experience or first aid training.
• DfE Teaching Assistant Induction Programme (completed or willingness to complete).
