Maternity Cover 1 year – Assistant Headteacher with SENDCO

Full time with 3 days non-contact

The governors of St Joseph’s School wish to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and outstanding Assistant Head with SENDCO to join our outstanding team of staff for 1 academic year. This role would suit an experienced Sendco looking for their first leadership post.

Our Assistant Head with SENDCO will:

  • Be fully committed to safeguarding the children in our care
  • Adhere to our rigorous safeguarding and child protection policy and procedure
  • Have a clear vision of, and commitment, to Catholic Education and fully contribute to the Catholic ethos of the school
  • Have a genuine desire to raise standards and outcomes for pupils with special educational needs
  • Be an outstanding teacher, providing the best possible role model for all staff members
  • Be able to effectively lead, coach and support pupils and staff at all levels
  • Be approachable and have the ability to build positive relationships with parents
  • Have experience of effective monitoring, school improvement and school self-evaluation
  • Have experience of effective and innovative inclusive practice
  • Have a philosophy centred on truly personalised learning meeting the needs, abilities and aspirations of all pupils
  • Have excellent organisation and communication skills
