We are seeking a passionate and empathetic Access & Assessment Team (AAT) Support Worker. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for delivering high quality trauma informed support to victim-survivors of domestic abuse including emotional support, risk assessment, safety planning and signposting.
AAT is the first point of contact for Leeds Domestic Violence Service for any person who is experiencing domestic abuse. The team works with victim-survivors, risk assessing and developing support and safety plans. AAT is also the first point of contact for professionals who are making referrals, seeking support for victim-survivors or wanting advice.
You will need:
- Experience of working in an advisory or support role
- A good understanding of the impact of domestic violence and abuse on victim-survivors, children and their families
- The ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations under pressure
- Excellent listening skills
Leeds Women’s Aid (LWA) is the largest women’s charitable organisation in Leeds and provides services for victims of domestic abuse, honour-based violence, forced marriage, stalking and harassment and is the lead agency for two consortia, Leeds Domestic Violence Service and Women and Girls Alliance.
