This important service is responsible for supporting young people with special educational needs and those who are at risk of becoming vulnerable due to their circumstances.
Our teams work hard to ensure they provide the right support at the right time. Support ranges from providing early intervention to working with more complex, specialist and holistic needs.
We want Leeds to be the best city for children and young people to grow up in and we know that employing kind, compassionate and hardworking team members is vital to achieving that goal.
Our SEND and inclusion strategy sets out our plans to improve outcomes for children and reduce the inequalities they may face in their learning, health and wellbeing. If you are part of this service, you will join our efforts to achieve these goals.
There are opportunities for people at all levels and from a wide range of backgrounds to join us. We’re made up of several teams that support children and young people with a range of special educational needs. These teams are:
- Educational Psychology Team
- Sensory teams
- STARS Autism support
- Special Educational Needs Inclusion support teams
- Statutory Assessment and Provision team
These sit alongside other teams that work with learners who might be at risk of missing out on education and becoming vulnerable due to their circumstances. These include:
- Attendance team
- Elective Home Education
- Children missing out of education
- The Virtual School (for looked after children)
