An exciting opportunity has arisen within Passenger Transport - we are currently looking to recruit a team of Passenger Assistants.

Passenger Assistants are required to support the front line services of Passenger Transport, during the busy periods of morning and mid-afternoon.

You must be available between 7.00am – 10.00am and 2.00pm – 5.00pm in the first instance until you are placed on a regular run.

Successful candidates will be appointed on a term time only basis on a 16 hour contract.

As a Passenger Assistant you will be expected to accompany and supervise passengers on journeys from home to and from school, college or day care centre, taking responsibility for their conduct and safety during the journey. Where necessary you will be asked to assist passengers into and out of the vehicle, at home and at destination and to ensure that they are seated comfortably and securely before setting off (this may involve the use of specialist equipment such as wheelchair clamps or postural support harnesses). Passenger Assistants are responsible for providing a safe, comfortable and stress-free journey and have a positive impact on the wellbeing of passengers and creative a positive environment on the vehicle.

It is essential that all our resource is flexible regarding changes to hours or areas of work. There may be a requirement to work on bank holidays.

It is envisaged the majority of positions available will be appointed on a split shift basis; this is to ensure that core business times of am’s and pm’s are covered.

A full uniform will be supplied.

Please note this is a rolling advert and will be advertised for 6 months the post will only be filled when required, application forms will be kept for up to 6 months.
