Independent Medical Assessment Team

Occupational Therapy Assistant 18.5hrs (Monday to Wednesday) 

The national Blue Badge Disabled Parking Scheme enables disabled people with severe mobility problems to access goods and services by allowing them to park close to their destination. 

In Leeds, Adult Social Care has a dedicated Independent Mobility Assessment Team to ensure that blue badges are issued fairly and consistently. People who are not automatically entitled to a blue badge will have an individual, independent mobility assessment to determine their eligibility. 

The purpose built assessment clinic is staffed by Occupational Therapists and support staff and is managed by the Disability Team Manager. The clinic is based at Assisted Living Leeds with a satellite clinic at Holt Park Active.

Occupational Therapist Therapy Assistant — an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our established team. Strong communication and assessment skills will be a key requirement for this post in addition to knowledge of services available to our customers. Team members have regular supervision and support and a full training programme is available for all new staff in this interesting area of work.
