Gledhow Primary School is a three form entry school with a diverse pupil context. We are seeking to appoint a SENCo on a permanent contract, who will assume the role of SENCo with a small amount of class teaching required.
The successful candidate will be supported in the SENCO role by:-
- our Assistant Head with responsibility for Inclusion,
- our Assistant SENCo and
- dedicated Speech and Language resource.
Applications from an existing experienced SENCo would be welcome, but especially so if the candidate has undertaken the National Award for SEN Coordinator.
We require the following skills and qualities:
- An excellent communicator, both spoken and written with good organisational skills, warmth and enthusiasm for maximising the progress/independence of SEN pupils.
- Someone who is proactive in change management, able to organise and implement a whole school SEN Action Plan with energy and enthusiasm.
An energetic practitioner with the knowledge, skills and understanding of a range of teaching, learning and assessment strategies to make a positive impact on the progress of pupils who have a range of barriers to learning.
