Iveson Primary is an inclusive two – form entry primary school with nursery in the north west of the city. The school underwent a significant refurbishment in 2018/19 as part of its’ expansion to two form entry and now boasts two libraries, an Art and DT room, a nurture room, dining hall and separate gym as well as larger than average classrooms. The school sits in extensive grounds which incorporate a secret garden, allotment, playing field and three large playgrounds. In September 2023 it opened a brand new 16 place (8 in the first year) resourced provision for children with ASD. Situated within the existing school
building the provision will include two classrooms, a sensory room, calming spaces, a bespoke outdoor area as well as a staff kitchen and meeting room.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SEN Teaching Assistant to be appointed to our brand new ASD Resourced Provision.
The SEN Teaching Assistant appointed to this post will work alongside the Resourced Provision Lead Teacher and HLTAs to help shape, implement and deliver a high quality learning experience for all our children to raise the learning and attainment in both academic and EHCP areas. Supporting pupils, individually or in small groups, so they can access all areas of the curriculum, always promoting pupils’ independence. Integral to this role is the willingness to undertake related training and hold/or be willing to undertake a First Aid qualification and deliver personal care as required.
