Leeds City Council, Digital Infrastructure Services is seeking to appoint four students for a period of approx. one year. You will be studying an IT/Computing/Business Computing related degree course.

These opportunities provide exposure to applications and developments hosted on enterprise level environments within one of the largest local governments in the UK.

Four placement opportunities are available across the following areas:

  1. Database Management (Microsoft SQL 2008 -2017 and Oracle technologies)
  2. eService & Software Testing (.Net and .Net Core, C#, Share Point, Visual Studio & Team Foundation Server technologies) Main focus around web development)
  3. Microsoft Server Team ( Microsoft Windows Servers, VMware, data centre hardware)
  4. Identity & Monitoring Team (Microsoft Active Directory, System Centre suite of tools, Security Certificate management, Power shell)

Leeds City Council is developing innovative ways to enable smarter and more efficient services to the citizens of Leeds. These positions are a chance to become involved and gain valuable insight into the working practices of local government and the many varied services it provides.

As well as technical flair individuals will need to be enthusiastic, eager to learn, good communicators, willing to take responsibility and be able to demonstrate initiative. 

The package offered to the successful student:- 

Salary starting at £17,007

Annual Leave

24 days per annum + bank holidays
