Meanwood Valley Urban Farm is a charity established in 1980 to promote the health and wellbeing of people across Leeds and to provide education in agriculture, horticulture and the natural environment.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed person to join our small team to oversee all aspects of livestock management for a variety of large and small animals. Duties will include maintaining animal health, cleanliness, breeding, routine animal husbandry, selling/buying and transporting of animals, upkeep of relevant animal records and maintenance of the Farm estate and livestock equipment.
This role also involves overseeing, planning and developing the animal care services section delivered by the charity to young people, schools, people with learning disabilities and the general public.
To inform and interact with visitors to ensure they enjoy their experience of Meanwood Valley Urban Farm.
To be responsible for overseeing and implementing statutory Health and Safety policies and procedures.
You will have experience of working with large livestock and small animals, preferably with a qualification in Agriculture or Animal Care and Health and Safety
Full clean driving licence is required for the position preferably qualified to drive our minibus and trailer.
This role involves flexible working to include weekend working on a rota basis and public holidays with time off in lieu. This role requires enhanced DBS vetting.
