We are looking for an enthusiastic, approachable and highly organised Volunteer & Community Groups Worker who is dedicated to empowering local communities to support their own mental and physical health needs. You will work as part of the Healthy Minds Team at Cranmore & Rayland’s Community Centre to engage and support local volunteers, assisting them to run existing and establish new community groups, providing training to enable the groups to progress to self-sufficiency.
In this key role the successful applicant will have the ability to work with a wide range of individuals and community groups with different abilities and varying individual needs. You will have excellent knowledge of supporting, assisting and communicating with people to establish their training and development requirements. An empathetic attitude and commitment to equality and inclusivity is essential.
The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge and experience of supporting community groups to independence, supporting them to apply for and secure funding, elect committee members, open group bank accounts and manage small grants. Displaying a can-do approach, they will be self-motivated, highly organised and be able to independently carry out and manage tasks. Training and mentoring will be provided to address any gaps in skills.
