Join Our Team as a Sports Coach and Relational Leader

Are you passionate about inspiring children through sport and play? Do you believe in the power of relationships to transform learning and behaviour? Castleton Primary School is seeking a dynamic, friendly, and professional Sports Coach and Relational Leader to join our dedicated team. This unique dual role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality physical education while supporting children’s social and emotional development through our school’s relational approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality PE and games lessons, inspiring children to develop skills and confidence
  • Lead engaging before and after school clubs and lunch time activities, offering flexible hours to fit around the school day
  • Attend and support out-of-school sports events and competitions
  • Collaborate closely with the school’s relational team to support children’s holistic development
  • Play a vital role in our OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) initiative, embracing the power of play to enhance learning and wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with parents and the local community to promote active lifestyles
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection, ensuring a safe environment for all children
  • Provide classroom support as a Teaching Assistant when required, contributing to the wider school community

Qualifications and Experience

  • Level 5 qualification in sports coaching or equivalent. Experience teaching games and PE lessons in a school setting.
  • Proven ability to lead clubs and extracurricular activities.
  • Strong understanding and commitment to safeguarding and child protection
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, including collaboration with parents and community partners

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with children, staff, parents, and community members
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support various school activities and needs
