Contract: Temporary in the first instance with a view to permanent. Term Time Only 43.894%

Tranmere Park Primary School is a happy, hard-working and successful school situated in Guiseley, North West Leeds, with fantastic pupils and a friendly and hard-working staff team.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and efficient Admin Officer to support the effective running of our school. This is a varied and responsible role requiring a high level of accuracy, confidentiality and initiative.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing all aspects of HR administration, including contracts, sickness absence, days in lieu and additional hours etc, ensuring records are maintained in accordance with audit and data protection requirements.
  • Act as the go-to person for payroll queries, supporting colleagues.
  • Returning documentation to the DfE e.g. School Workforce Census (SWFC)
  • Managing Single Central Record (SCR)
  • Managing recruitment process from inception to completion
  • Updating training records
  • Updating and maintaining school policies
  • Taking accurate minutes of meetings and distributing promptly (please note some of these meetings are in the evening via Zoom which you will be expected to attend and last from 1.5-2 hours)
  • Oversight of Health and Safety administration and compliance
  • Supporting the wider administrative functions of the school
  • Work with a methodical approach to managing information

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Excellent communication skills, to communicate with parents/carers, staff and other stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational/planning skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • A professional attitude to work, remaining calm under pressure whilst dealing with competing demands and adhering to given deadlines
  • A proven track record of recent and relevant experience in a HR role
