Pudsey Grammar School is a thriving secondary school and sixth form educating students aged 11-18. About the Role
We are seeking an outstanding professional to support Post 16 students in our rapidly expanding Sixth Form. The Attendance and Pastoral Support Officer will help secure excellent attendance and provide support in ensuring excellent behaviour and the provision of high-quality care and welfare for all students.
The role will include responsibility for the monitoring and implementation of whole school strategies to ensure good attendance of all Sixth Form students. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the main school Attendance Team, Director of Studies, and the Post 16 Pastoral Team (including form tutors) to provide excellent and holistic support for all our students.
Key Responsibilities
- To manage and coordinate attendance and processes and data informed interventions in the Sixth Form
- To provide support for the Post 16 Pastoral lead in ensuring good behaviour and conduct in Y12 and 13
- To support mentoring, SEMH and safeguarding work across Y12 and 13
- To provide attendance and behaviour reports as required by the Senior Leadership Team and/or Governors.
- To work with families and the community to improve attendance and behaviour.
- To run, direct and expand the Sixth Form student council and their role in organising charity and social events.
- To design, promote and monitor involvement in the Sixth Form enrichment programme.
- To undertake the duties of a Sixth form tutor
- To support the Assistant Director of Studies with external applications to Sixth Form
Qualifications and Experience
- Appropriate qualifications and/or relevant experience working with young people
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and ability to lead a team
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
