An exciting opportunity has arisen for the successful candidate to lead our on-site alternative provision (The Link). Working as a key member of our curriculum leadership team you will have the chance to shape the future of young people with SEMH needs. You will lead a team which includes a classroom teacher, 2 Higher Level Teaching Assistants and a Teaching Assistant.
Lawnswood School is a thriving school with strong leadership and a dedicated and supportive team of staff. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, a ‘can do’ mentality, and the drive and determination to ensure that the vulnerable students with whom you work can overcome barriers to learning and progress; helping to keep them safe, happy and successful throughout their time with us.
The Link is a large provision made up of two dedicated spaces. The Key Stage 3 provision has capacity for approximately 12 students, with the aim of supporting their return to mainstream education and ensuring they are ready for Key Stage 4 study. The Key Stage 4 provision has capacity for approximately 20 students, who are taught the core and SRE curriculum within the provision, delivered by specialist teachers, mixed with sessions out at local colleges. Your experience in supporting students with SEMH needs will be key; as such, the role offers a professional challenge and a rewarding opportunity to be part of an inclusive school with a leadership team who are highly committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of young people.
