Minibus driving: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (6.45am to 8.15am and 2.45pm to 4pm)
We are looking to appoint a reliable and hardworking Lettings Officer and Minibus Driver to join our successful secondary school team. The successful candidate will play a dual role: supporting our evening lettings once a week by assisting external users of the school premises and driving the school minibus to provide safe transport for sixth form students during the morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off.
As part of the lettings responsibilities, typical duties will include welcoming and assisting with queries, ensuring smooth use of facilities, and securing the school site at the end of the evening.
We are looking for someone with a flexible, ‘can-do’ approach who also possesses maintenance skills. The ability to deal with issues using one’s own initiative whilst also working well as part of the site team is essential. The role also includes overtime opportunities covering staff illness/holidays and weekend lettings.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely drive the school minibus for student transport and school activities.
- Carry out routine checks and ensure the vehicle is maintained to a high standard.
- Support site maintenance and janitorial duties, including cleaning, sweeping, tidying, and moving equipment.
- Assist with general security and upkeep of the school premises.
- Work flexibly as part of the wider site team to meet the needs of the school.
Skills & Experience Required
- Full, clean UK driving licence (D1 category essential, or willingness to undertake and pass a minibus driver qualification).
- Experience in janitorial or site maintenance duties (cleaning, sweeping, tidying, moving).
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work independently, prioritising workload as needed.
- Physically fit to meet the demands of manual work if required.
- Positive attitude, flexible, and committed to supporting the school community.
