About the Role
As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning within the classroom, delivering high-quality interventions, and fostering a positive, inclusive environment. You will work closely with children, particularly those with SEND, helping them to flourish through engaging and meaningful learning experiences. We are an Opal School, where play is the foundation of learning. In this role, you will embrace the importance of play as a dynamic process that builds understanding, relationships, and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Embrace and promote our relational culture by building positive, meaningful connections with children and staff.
- Support teaching and learning in the classroom, delivering high-quality interventions tailored to individual needs.
- Work closely with children with SEND, adapting approaches to ensure all children can access the curriculum.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support the school’s ethos and values.
- Contribute to the broader school community, including opportunities for additional hours to support holiday play schemes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) highly desirable.
- Maths and English qualifications at grade 4 or above (or equivalent).
- Knowledge and experience of working with children with SEND.
- Understanding of safeguarding and commitment to child protection.
- Ability to deliver targeted interventions that support learning and development.
