Swinnow Primary School is a one form entry school in the west of Leeds. We are a friendly school with lots going on. Swinnow Children’s Centre is on site, which provides services for families with children aged 0 - 5. Our nursery takes children from the age of 2. We also host Meadow – a provision to support children with SEMH needs. We are proud of our positive ethos and child-centred approach to everything we do.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner at Swinnow Primary School. We are appointing a full-time HLTA who will specialise in SEND and behaviour to join our friendly team.
In the first instance, the role will be based in The Hive – our enhanced provision for children with communication and interaction needs, some of whom present with challenging behaviour. The successful candidate will take a lead in the mornings, organising the team and working with small groups of children. This role involves taking a lead at lunchtime for the school – proactively planning and enabling positive experiences for all. The rest of the time will be used supporting children with behaviour or other learning needs. The school’s SENDCO will work closely with this practitioner.
The successful candidate needs to be positive, resilient and a good team player. They will be committed to our ethos where we support all our children to ‘Care, Aspire, Succeed’. They will have a proven track record in improving outcomes for children with SEND. They will have very strong behaviour management skills.
