The East Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre (SILC) is a 2-19 generic special school with 470 pupils on roll. All our pupils have special learning needs and some have physical/ medical difficulties. The East SILC is a complex organisation which operates on a variety of sites to provide a range of outreach services across the city, including partnerships with primary and secondary providers, the city-wide Physical Difficulties and Medical Service including a moving and handling service, as well as the Medical Needs Teaching Service for Leeds.

An opportunity has arisen for an Educarer to join our school community. The successful candidate will be supporting learners who may have complex medical needs by managing and administering daily medical interventions. Although the postholder will be based at Jack Clark they will be required to work across the East SILC as required.

We are looking for a caring, fun, flexible, resilient, motivated and enthusiastic individual to work alongside our Nursing Team. The workload is challenging and varied and regular comprehensive training will be provided to support you in your role. Time will be given throughout the day to fulfil this role, at other times in the day you will be supporting in class as a Teaching Assistant.

The East SILC has a progressive staffing structure in place for teaching assistants which is supported by Continual Professional Development. A thorough induction process is in place.
