Salary: Appointment will be made on the Sixth Form Colleges’ Association Salary spine for Support staff, spine point 10 £27,733 pro rata. Actual salary is £23,110.83 based on 0.8333 FTE
Hours: 37 - Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 4.30pm and Friday 8am to 4pm or Monday to Thursday 8am - 4pm and Friday
Contract: Permanent

The College is looking for an ambitious, bright individual and an independent thinker who is capable of working well in a team and on their own initiative, with a keen interest in a business career. You must be a clear communicator, have an inquisitive mind and be able to develop good working relationships with colleagues. You will be supporting all aspects of the College’s day-to-day administration and as such will work with all key support staff department functions across the college. You should be pro-active with a commitment to providing the highest quality service for our staff and students.

It is vitally important for the efficient running of the College that the post holder maintains an excellent record of attendance and punctuality, is able to work as a member of a team, is flexible and is able to work under their own initiative. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

This list is not exhaustive, and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the manager which are relevant to your role within the College to meet the overall business needs:

  • Provide cross college administration as and when required. For example, but not limited to: assist staff with downloading and uploading of learner assessment evidence (Videos/sound bites etc) to various online college/exam board platforms, or support Human Resources department for example during recruitment to ensure accuracy of document records kept etc.
  • Assist with organising manual filing systems.
  • Assist staff with scanning learner assessment evidence.
  • Administer school systems including textsystem, provide information/data/reports and routine IT tasks using Microsoft office.
  • Provide administrative support at college key events such as Open Days, enrolment , interview evenings etc.
  • Be able to undertake administrative duties including telephone/email enquiries from staff, parents, carers, and visitors, taking and passing on messages in a professional manner at all times.
  • Provide support to the Reprographics department.
  • Provide administration support to the examination department.
  • Provide the highest quality customer service.
  • Support the Office Manager with administration tasks as directed.
  • Manage the content for the college plasma screens and ensure screen content is kept current.
  • Be responsible for organising all hospitality for visitors in meeting rooms, including reserving car parking spaces.
  • Assist the organisers of college events by operating an events planning calendar and venue booking system.
  • Liaise with site staff to ensure appropriate layout of Hall and other venues for events.

General

  • To take responsibility for continuing personal and professional development and to keep abreast of all relevant legislation in order to facilitate all aspects of the post.

  • To participate in appraisal arrangements, as and when required.
  • Be professional and maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour, within and outside College.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • To undertake other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the nature of the post, and as may be requested by the Principal.
